The Final Bout [Quest: Battle of the Mystics Pt. 5 ]

That was indeed another intense fight, having to fight with two flying creatures in the game. Kenjiro's skill is more designed to help him fight in a close combat situation with his endurance and all but ranged combat has always been a nightmare for him. He enjoyed it though, considering it as a training for anyway, in a real battle, he can't simply choose who to fight with. Brushing up his skills in range combat is a lot necessary if he wants to be a soldier serving for the kingdom. And he put off the Head Mount Display then walked out of the room to meet Luke once again.

Luke thanked him for getting this far for the game development although for Kenjiro, that wasn't necessary because it was Luke who has given him that much favor for letting him experience playing a Virtual Reality for the first time. It was an enjoyable thing for him as if he's not actually doing a quest at all. Technically, he's just playing and have fun for himself.

Like the previous ones, Kenjiro was given his reward for participating in another round of the game's testing. Much to Kenjiro's delight, he was yet again invited for another test and according to Luke, this would be the last. It disappointed Kenjiro a bit for he would want even more however, he still have some stuff to do the next day so he still need to rest. The last testing seem to be a bit different because this time, it would no longer be about some pawns but the actual boss of the game. It got Kenjiro excited upon hearing that but nervous as well for he wouldn't know what the boss is like and if he would have enough strength to defeat it. Nevertheless, he accepted the last quest without hesitation and headed on towards the Virtual Reality room.

It was just that. Get inside the room, wear the Head Mounted Display and all the gears necessary for the game and he's all set. As this the final testing, Kenjiro would want to make it more dramatic. He stretched his body and took a deep breath as if entering into a real final combat of his life. And so he put the Head Mounted Display on and waited for the game to load. He does usually exit the splash screens and all but this time, he enjoyed watching all the loading screens that introduce the game. It shows each of the characters that he had fought with earlier with some cool animations of mock fights. He didn't expect to see the effects of the game to be this cool for he was more concentrated on the battle earlier. It all seemed too real for him with a high definition of 3D display. Though how would he be able to compare it with anything anyway? It's just his first time to play such game but for him, this one is already stunning.

After a series of splash screens, the game menu finally showed up. He took another deep breath then pressed the game start button. The game loaded and a volcanic environment formed around him, with active lava flowing all around and steams from the hot flaming lava goes to the sky. It was after a few minutes when he heard a loud roar and flapping of wings. He haven't seen the creature yet but he already made a face palm to himself realizing that this is another flying creature. Kenjiro instantly noticed a red dot in the sky above which rapidly grew in size until it revealed the form of a large red dragon.

It was a boss after all and Kenjiro can't help it but be amazed and also feel fear as well. It was not just any flying creature but a dragon that he's dealing with. The dragon finally landed in front of him as the countdown timer begin to tick. Kenjiro stood in his battle stance with the start of the game getting near. And the timer was off. The dragon quickly charged towards him with its claws which Kenjiro quickly evaded. He was able to position himself under it at the dragon, firing his hand up and punched it in the belly. The dragon screeched in pain an began to fly up in the air.

In its anger, it breathed a huge wave of flames towards Kenjiro which he tried to block with his fiery shield but it was easily broken by the flames. Kenjiro was burnt but all thanks to the will of the Phoenix that he is still alive. It took a couple of other breathing flames which made Kenjiro have some adrenaline rush due to the previous attack making him able to evade the dragon's attack fast enough, as not to be burnt. It lasted quite long as Kenjiro stood helpless of the creature's attack.

Finally, the creature got to his attacking range. He has to bet his all in this one final attack or he would be losing the game, something which Kenjiro wouldn't just give up on. And his heart pumped rapidly, as Kenjiro waited for his chance for an attack. The dragon flew towards him in an aim to cut him with its claw. Seems it's now out of flames to attack. When it has gotten a few meters near, Kenjiro quickly stretched for his hands and shot the dragon with the Flight of the Phoenix. The flames all settled down and the dragon's shadow seem to still be speeding towards Kenjiro. He panted, having little strength left as he has given his all on that final attack. The shadow grew larger but he can't do anything now. He can only wait until the dragon end the game with him losing. Much to his surprise, the dragon's head fell right in front of him, lying unconscious. The victory music played, giving another strength to him for the excitement of having won the battle.

All his strength was replenish the moment the game ended and he removed the Head Mounted Display. He went over to Luke as they began to discuss the game. It all went well and Kenjiro received his final reward. Luke even invited him to come by anytime and play for free which definitely hyped Kenjiro up. He left the place, still floating in cloud nine as he walked his way towards the barracks.
